Psilocybin is an amazing substance for neuroplasticity. Granted it’s illegal in a lot of places but for those that are interested look up microdosing. All the benefits without the “trip”.
It’s becoming less taboo in professional circles.

Eagerly awaiting the yoga /guitar video.
If this is so good for learning guitar shouldn’t it be in Grade 1, module 1?
I’ve just told my wife that if she sees me doing a handstand around the house its part of learning the guitar. Her look was priceless!!
Even if this doesn’t work, I’ll have better balance!
OK I tried this and it seems to help. Too early to tell. Maybe too much stuff from the 60’s up there. But I had a humorous experience. I was trying to balance on one leg then the other when my spouse and cat entered the practice room. I haven’t heard her laugh like that in 20 years and the cat, well… poor guy wasn’t sure whether to attack me or run. Freaked him right out. ![]()
Justin said he doesn’t recommend playing guitar while trying to stand upside down - but I didn’t hear him say not to try it while standing on one leg. Looks like my next evening is planned!
I tried the balancing exercise that Justin recommended when he first posted the lesson, but I didn’t get much out of it.
However, what I DID get a lot of benefit from was the technique I’m linking here. I don’t know if it helps neuroplasticity, but it certainly involves balance, and improved my sense of rhythm tremendously.
I tried the eyes closed trick mentioned several years ago and can’t make it past a few seconds and I spend too much time restarting. Eyes open has minimal corrections which I assume is less helpful in releasing chemicals. I found that by closing one eye the loss of depth perception hits a challenging sweet spot of errors and corrections.
