Well, it’s been over 4 years since I bought a guitar, largely because I’ve been in the financial toilet since 2020.
However, I’ve been thrilled with my 2 Artist guitars that I’ve learnt, grown and developed with. But the frets are wearing a bit now on my TC59 Tele, and I simply couldn’t pass up on the upgraded version, the AT92, on an Easter sale for an absolutely insane $199 AUS! That’s $99 GBP for you Northerners!
Hard to believe you can buy a real guitar at this price, but these are seriously good instruments. Professionals are gigging with these guitars.
Even their normal price of $349 AUS is an astounding price itself for a guitar of this quality.
The guys at Artist said the sale was over in less than an hour, so Im thrilled I scored one.
The familiar, brilliant, Artist Bullbucker pickups remain, split-coil; and a customary bone nut and locking tuners; very rare at this price point, but thats how Artist Guitars roll. These guitars simply do not go out of tune, and they play and sound awesome, with incredible versatility. Many AVOYPS/ recordings with these. This version is also lighter, which is a bonus.
Faultless craftsmanship after a close scan with a flashlight; the neck is beautiful, with a slight curve, and the intonation is absolutely spot on.
Be interesting to see if there’s any noticeable tonal differences between this AT92, and my TC59. Either way, I already know Im on a winner with this beauty.
Was a little surprised to see you featuring here in my Unread, Shane Looks amazing, and a cracking deal. Look forward to hearing some tele-jams soon. Enjoy!!
What a steal. That seems like some crazy price, well done nice score and a new guitar to play around with I look forward to hearing you tear it up soon
Shane @sclay
Don’t know anything about the make but you obviously like them.
If I lived in the southern hemisphere I think I would wait till the next sale when they might pay you to take them out of the shop!

Great looking guitar and it seems to have lots of features you can aim for. Happy you could save that deal. Wish you lots of satisfying hours together and who, if not you, would deserve to have this new gem. You made so much out of your journey within the last years, this guitar is definitely in good hands!
I’ll probably lower the action by a ‘smidge’; play around with the pickup heights to find my sweetspot; that’s about it. Then take it in for a luthier setup in a couple months.
Who doesn’t love to fiddle?
