New Music Theory app or online course?

I notice there’s a $149.99 promo for lifetime of the Music Theory online course.
Now I’m seeing they just came out with a music theory app for $9.99/month or $59.99/1st year.
Is the app included with online course purchase?
If not what is the difference and am I better off with the online course or app?

I wish the apps worked alongside the online content.

The website content and the App are different.
The website course is, and will remain, the core of the practical music theory course.
The App is a new development not a replacement but a complement.
Justin did a live stream explaining and answered questions last week.

Not sure Justin got this video right. I had to listen and fast forward for almost 30 minutes before Justin started to compare the app and the website content. At around 28 minutes he says “it’s not one or the other, the app and website compliment each other”. Does he really think people will buy both?

Ok thanks, that’s what I wanted to know. I will just get the online course bc I can’t afford both.

I watched the video. As a student in level 2 who wants to learn music theory having both the web course and the app, each on it’s own pay wall, is confusing. Which is best? Which should I pursue? Wish Justin would just charge a price for whatever it takes to learn guitar the right way and stop these games of similar but different courses each with their own paywall. Rather disappointing.

@prairietrees John - the website course is the core substance. The app is a complementary aspect designed for people to use when mobile / not at home / not with their guitar or for people who simply prefer app based learning.

I got the app and I would say it’s definitely not worth the money right now.

The Modules are extremely short and at this stage it covers very little theory. If I was tight on money I would honestly try to get a refund.

As it’s advertised as early access, and I want to support Justin for his first 2 grades of the guitar course, I’m willing to pay for it - for now, hoping that they will make fairly regular updates for the new modules. However, judging from the other app, I’m not really holding my breath…

TLDR: If you have a bunch of extra money and want to support Justin get the app. If you don’t, definitely don’t get it, it’s not worth it at this stage.
