Maybe itâs just me, but I would benefit from a study group vibe and a common goal ? Like this month, we learn the first arrangement and share our progress with it. Next month, we try to improvise with it. Maybe a 6 months study plan like our beloved BLIM
I mean I do get more things done when I have small goals and have a community vibe. Otherwise, I get distracted and start learning a bunch of courses at the same time
Iâm really really interested in this lesson. This is a style of playing that has been a goal of mine since before I started playing. Itâs a big part of WHY I picked up the guitar in the first place.
I watched the 4 intro lessons and they seem attainable at my current skill level.
Have really enjoyed the BLIM course and excited to get back to my acoustic guitar with this new course. I have a naive technical question regarding this MatchMySound feature (not sure if this is the right chat). While my electric guitar is plugged into a Focusrite and Reaper (Windows), I donât currently have an external microphone and my acoustic guitar doesnât have a pick-up. Whatâs best advice for inputting the acoustic sound into MatchMySound? (My phone is Android). Thanks!
I had thought about that a little bit for my case, and even though my acoustic does have a pickup and I do have a condenser mic I can plug into my focusrite, I wasnât going to get fancy with it. Depending on whether I liked using my tablet or PC better, I was just going to use the basic internal mic in the tablet or the mic built into the inexpensive usb webcam I have on my PC (or even the mic built into my laptop).
One thing to take into consideration is the browser/device, somehow I never got good results with Google Chrome on my Windows PC with matchmysound. My score was always really really bad and then I started using Mozilla Firefox and everything went back to normal. So it takes some trial and error.
I think that Iâd like this too! Though in BLIM I didnât succeed throughout the 6 months, here - with a slower pace or less material I would like to take part!
I can understand that - generally, I am like you in this regard, Rogier.
My own pace, no questions, and then suddenly I am coming up with some surprising super performance video (in my dreams! )
But when I took that BLIM endeavour, being in a group with a few nice chaps giving each other tips and posting a video or asking question has formed a bit something like a mini school class, while I was a bit on the quiet side, it felt nice to be in there. And if I could choose my class mates - Rogier you would be one of them for sure!
Hi! I just purchased the solo blues course. Iâm somewhat confused about the content. What I see are 4 lessons. (Intro to Match My Sound, Boom bass with licks, steady thumb primer, and steady thumb blues). Is that content the entire course or am I to receive additional material at a later date? Also, I have not located the Match my sound module. Any help navigating would be appreciated. Thank you!
Also MatchMySound is a tab called âPlayâ on the lesson page of Boom Bass With licks for exemple. Itâs near the lesson text, at the bottom of the video
