NGD - at Christmas! šŸŽ„

Congratulations Tod! That’s such a nice story to go along with a nice guitar!

Now I really want to know the names of all your other guitars - who’s keeping Mitch company? Do you have a thread about this already

Hi Ashu!

I don’t have a thread about this… that’s a great idea - since it’s your idea, you should create one!!! Maybe a pic of the guitar with it’s name & why that name was chosen!!!

As far as my other guitars, some have names & others don’t. I haven’t really given the ā€œWhy/ Why Notā€ much consideration, actually… maybe I should contemplate this!

One that you may find amusing is my Seagull Artist. It’s name is ā€œMine!ā€ā€¦ if you ever saw the Pixar film ā€œFinding Nemoā€ā€¦ the seagulls are all saying ā€œmine, mine, mine!!!ā€

I started creating one and found one from a while back!

Well Tod, that is a beautiful present. It’s a great guitar. You must have some discipline. It would have killed me to see that Epiphone box standing there unopened. I would have peaked.

I thought my GAS was well and truly cured. I’m very happy with my guitars. But then I decided to watch some videos on YT of the recent NAM show and now I have a new list. Fell in love with a new Reverend guitar, showed it to my Wife and she immediately said ā€œbuy itā€. I haven’t bought it but GAS is a curious thing.

How did she know to buy you that particular guitar when you said you wanted a pedal board? I guess she knows you well.

Very nice guitar Tod. You must have been good this year. My new guitar is on the way in about a week. I’ll post a pic of it when it comes. So stoked as I am sure you are…just a new pedal- ha

Happy strumming

What a beauty!
I love everything about this awesome guitar - and there always is something special about red ones :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The heartwarming story behind your Christmas gift lights up this dull January.
Thank you so much for sharing :green_heart:

You really are a lucky (CAT)MAN to have this beautiful guitar and your most wonderful (Christmas) Carol :four_leaf_clover:

Have a great time together :hugs:

Nice guitar Tod, but what does it sound like, it reminds me of the one Chuck Berry used to use, does it have that vintage tone.

Thank you Hans!
A new guitar day is always a good day!!!

Hey Ian!
She knows me very well… she also knows how to look at my Wishlist!
I have a few guitars on the list that are way too costly to actually purchase… guitars like my dream Duesenberg or a Gretsch White Falcon! It’s not in the budget to drop $4000 or more for a new instrument! It costs nothing to pretend that they’re on the list because they’re my next new six-string!!! I’ve actually checked almost all of the boxes for gear now… time to just buckle down & become a better player… give the guitars the attention they deserve & make ā€˜em sing!!! :musical_notes:
Thank you for chiming in!!!

Tod

By the way… if you have the means & the desire, make the purchase - get the Reverend! I waffled over making purchases in the past only to have the guitar end up discontinued & unavailable! Go for it!!!

Hey Tod,

Wow, I’m clearly doing things wrong. I should obviously make a Wishlist and make it very obvious how to access it!

I guess it’s a good strategy to put a few really impossibly expensive guitars on the list and then one ā€œcheaperā€ one that you actually hope to get. Then, next to the expensive ones, it looks like a bargain, right!

Well it’s very new so I’m figuring it will be around for a while yet. But this sentence says it all …

I’ve got 2 nice Squier Tele’s (both cheap, but very nice to play) and 2 higher spec S-types with very different pickups (one SSS and one HSS) and TBH with the Strats as I progress with dynamics of strumming and picking I’m starting to get different tones out of them, so like you, I think its a case of ā€œgiving them the attention they deserve and make them singā€ rather than getting new gear right now, even if the Reverend hit the GAS button in my mind.

However, I don’t have an HH guitar or one with P90’s … yet!

I spy, with my little eye…

A HUGE GAP IN YOUR COLLECTION… MAYBE MORE THAN ONE GAP!!!

You should remedy this obvious oversight IMMEDIATELY!!!

Hi Jeff!
NGD is always a good day… even better when it’s Christmas Day!!! Mrs. Claus :mrs_claus:t2: was very good to me this Christmas!!!

It was a pedalBOARD, not a pedal…. Funny, nobody’s asked me anything about THAT!!!

Tod

P.S. Looking forward to seeing some pics of your new baby too!

Thanks Robert! Definitely a big Shoutout to my Better Half!!! She’s been pretty darned good at finding awesome gifts throughout our 41+ years of marriage!!! I wouldn’t trade her for 50 guit…… no…… wait, 50?..?..?..… YES!!! I’m sure - NOT EVEN 50 guitars!!!
Tod

Thank you Gunhild!!!

I agree… I’m a lucky CATMAN!!!

That is the plan, for sure!!!
Hope all is well for you in 2026!!!

Thanks John!

It sounds good to me - but then I don’t sound anything like Chuck Berry, either!!! I’m still in Justin’s Grade 3… maybe after I’ve completed Grade 27 or so I might give ā€˜ol Chuck a run for his money playing Sweet Little Sixteen or Maybellene!
Guitar lore claims the Mr. Berry was buried with a Gibson ES-355!
