I always wanted a steel strings acoustic guitar with a red cedar top. This one was on a Thomann’s B stock for peanuts. All solid wood, cedar/mahogany, sound port, and it’s a beauty.
Of course, first it had to be inspected by our house customs official ![]()
And it looks to me that the customs official did a thorough job too. ![]()
Congrats on this find!!
The guitar (very nice, BTW) may be worth peanuts
, but the cat is priceless…
I do hope you’ll be satisfied with the sound; judging from your playing you have shared with us so far, you must have pretty high requirements in this respect.
I’m mostly looking for better sensitivity to the touch, for better dynamics.
In general, this guitar tone is very good. But I need a couple of weeks to understand/feel it properly.
Lovely - I’ve always preferred the warmer sound of cedar - dings more easily though ![]()
I think a lot of guitars get a CAT scan for quality control.
…I’ll get my coat
Congrats Alexey!
Looks like a great find and a beauty!
Seems like it was approved by your house customs cat (also pretty)
Look forward to hearing it ![]()
Happy NGD, Alexey

Lovely! soon enough, we’ll need to hear it perform! ![]()
ha ha… I should’ve though about the CAT scan myself…
According to the AVOIP rules - one video per month ![]()
But I’ll post a sample here.
Happy NGD! The third guitar that I built has a western red cedar top. I found it to be warmer and more resonant than spruce. It is great for finger style and more delicate play, but not for strumming hard. Perfect for you style of playing. It is so resonant that the sound gets a little muddy with harder strumming. Enjoy!

I bought a Performance Focus Dreadnought Electroacoustic in 2024. (The guitar had been ‘lost’ in a warehouse when the stockist ceased trading.) I contacted Breedlove in America and they sent me all the manufacturing details and gave me a warranty.
Fantastic company, fantastic guitars. I get terrific pleasure playing mine: I know from all your performances on here you’ll make superb use of yours. Happy playing!

Happy NGD, looks great.
Not quite, one topic per month with as many recordings as you would like to include in the topic.
Congratulations Alexey! The guitar looks great, sounds great and the cat seems to approve!
I love that DSus2-D-Sus4-D thing at the end… might have to borrow that haha!
Tell Tommy, this is his arrangement ![]()
Happy NGD, Alexey! ![]()
What a beauty - and in your hand sounds as lovely as ever! So much warmth and depth in the tone. Amazing.
