NGD- GAS satisfied for now!🤣

A month or so ago I went in Exeter with Sue for a day out, and popped into Project Music, as you do, whilst she toured the stores. I tried out several guitars but rather fell in love with a Duesenberg Palomo Custom black. I resisted, but decided some saving and selling a few things was on the cards. I was in two minds about selling my Rickenbacker which I like a lot but do not play very much, but it was an option.

Last week on Monday I had to go into Exeter for a car service and whilst it was being done I went into the centre and back to Project Music to have another play on the Deusenberg and make sure it was right for me. After 30 mins, I asked Lee if there was anything else similar that he thought I should try and and could compare it with. He instantly moved 2m away and plucked a PRS of the wall, he said 'Give it a go, it’s a one owner pre-loved, after you a bit I will tell you about it.". There I sat playing the PRS, a make I had often looked at but never tried, the neck felt great, slightly wider than the ES355. I played it through a Fender Blues Junior and was amazed at the guitars tonal versatility, from lovely rich tones to screaming rock, and even a country tone. I kept switching between the PRS and the Deusenberg and I realised that the PRS felt right, don’t get me wrong the Paloma Custom is a great guitar but this PRS just did something for me. I left with a huge amount GAS, and trying work out what to do, it was a great price a little more than the Deusenberg and I did not want to miss out on it.

I talked with Sue about it and I decided after a few days I would move the Rickenbacker on, I had already been offered a good price for it, and so emailed my prospective buyer and waited. the buyer came back and said yes he would have it. On Monday I drove 30 miles and delivered it to him and he transferred the funds to me, and then I went 50 miles to Exeter and Project Music to collect the PRS which I had reserved with a deposit. They fitted a new set of strings to my spec and set up the guitar as I asked and checked it out, handed it over for me to try for as long as I wanted, and after 30 minutes I paid for it.

I have had a few jobs to do at home since getting it and only played it for about an 1.5 hours so far, I am getting more used to the neck and I am really enjoying its feel and tone.

Here it is a PRS Studio 10 in Top Fire Red with tremolo bridge. It’s in wonderful condition, the case looks like new, I am so pleased I tried it out and was able to get it.

Spec from PRS is:-
"PRS’s new 22 fret, 25” scale length Studio model electric guitar is a fresh, modern rendition of a traditional single-single-hum guitar set up with the beauty and brightness of a maple top. The possibilities are vast with PRS’s proprietary 57/08 Narrowfield pickups in the middle and bass positions in conjunction with a 57/08 humbucking bridge pickup. Screaming lead tones, crisp rhythm tones and 5-way blade switch also enhance the flexibility of this guitar in the studio or on stage.

Other features include mahogany back and neck, V12 finish, rosewood fretboard, “pattern neck” with “pattern thin option,” 2011 birds, tremolo or stoptail bridge option, PRS locking tuners, nickel or gold hardware, and redesigned lampshade knobs volume and push/pull tone controls."

Happy NGD Adrian!!!

What a gorgeous PRS!!! She is absolutely stunning in PRS’s red!!! Makes me want to listen to Chris De Burgh’s “Lady in Red” again… I think I will!!!

My ears really perked up at “Duesenberg”… their Starplayer TV Phonic is my Dream Guitar…. what a difficult choice… I’d have been tempted to sell more than just a Ricky & get ‘em both!!!

Congrats you lucky guitar guy!!!
