I have a perfect song to play it on. Well, gotta practice then.

I have a similar Gretsch (G5420T in Fairlane Blue). I put locking tuners on it and that made a positive difference with the Bigsbyā€™s tuning stability.

Oh wow, Artem!
That definitely IS Gorgeous!!! Gretsch guitars are so pretty & those Filtertron pickups sound amazing! I was playing (I think) that model at Guitar Center just after Christmas but in Amethyst & was so temptedā€¦ somehow I managed to swallow the GAS bubble & put the guitar away BUT, if it had been the Azure finishā€¦ Iā€™d be posting the same pics!!! :joy: Itā€™s a really beautiful guitar that feels & sounds as good as it looks!!! Congratulations!!!

I am not sure if those are the Filtertron or the Broadtrons. The Broadtrons from what I understand are more inbetween a Filtertron and a Humbucker. I guess for people who dont want to go ā€œfull commitmentā€ into that sound. Or it happens to be on the model they get. I guess there is a bit of a difference. I have played one one time and I didnt know enough about them then and I dont know what I had unfortunatly.

Seriously If you jam it you jam it right? That is one amazing guitar. I would love to get one. And I love Bigsbys.

@metramaks You are so stoked. Are you into rockabilly music? Are we going to see you post you playing some Cramps music or are you more of a Stray Cats guy? Maybe none of that. :metal: :joy:

Yours looks pretty danged similar to this one that Brian Setzerā€™s holdingā€¦

Not bad company to be in!!!

The one I was playing had Filtertrons according to the sales guyā€¦ 'course you canā€™t always believe what a sales guy saysā€¦ but regardless, it sounded really good playing power chords & arpeggiating over a simple open chord progression!

These are Broadā€™Trons, so yes, something in between Filterā€™Trons and humbuckers. And thatā€™s exactly what I need as I mainly play blues and rock. I thought that Iā€™m not hugely into rockabilly, but after listening to Brian Setzer turned out itā€™s pretty much the same rockā€™nā€™roll like early Elvis, Buddy Holly, Bill Haley and others that I really love. Still no idea who Cramps are, but you can expect something like Rock Around the Clock in the future. Though it wonā€™t be the near future.

Yep, the shape looks the same, but his signature is bigger and a hollow-body. Mine is semi-hollow with a center block and as large as a Les Paul.

And I like the Challenge to play up to the level of itā€™s beauty!

And hereā€™s a demo. I had to plan it better, but itā€™s something for the next time. At least Iā€™m learning something (hopefully).
Anyway, thereā€™s a bit of me talking for no reason, then a bit of unplugged playing with a quick comparison to a solid body and an acoustic. Then I finally plugged it in and there are some clean tones, overdrive and lighter distortion, fuzz and high gain. And a quick comparison with my SG, but only for distorted tones. Yeah, shouldā€™ve played something clean too, but I know a song just for that, will try to record it this or next week.
Here are links to certain sections and a full video at the bottom.
Just be ready to hear me butchering a couple of solos and several riffs.

After listening back to what I recorded itā€™s clear that the guitar sounds much better than I can play it. And it can play anything, even metal isnā€™t a problem. Pickups are a bit not as hot as humbuckers on my SG (snd theyā€™re not very hot themselves), but the difference is not big at all. Interestingly, while playing it sounds very different because of the acoustic sound being much louder and in the moment it doesnā€™t seem like a good metal tone. But on the recording itā€™s just right.

Great demo, I enjoyed the metal part the most.

You play very well! :slightly_smiling_face:

Can I borrow your fingers? You can stretch reach half of the fretboard. Very lucky!

Iā€™m afraid there can be some difficulties with delivery.

Cool video and thanks for sharing!

Love the definition of those pickups, even on high gain!
