Bought a B-stock Harley Benton. (âŹ265 and that aint even the cheapest HB guitars)
in short; impressed by its quality and playability, itâs growing on my fast.
It came with a bad setup and flimsy strings but I can fix that myself
Solid built, straight neck, flawless fretwork and tons of mojo.
invites to chug. first guitar ever with active pickups and I donât dislike for our heavy metal/thrash/punk band ,au contraire.
Itâs a 'smaller size" explorer, bit of a neck dive but that was said in the reviews.
Since reviews/YT was raving about this one, I had to try it. I had a voucher burning in my pocket so yeah why not, while we wait for the custom V.
The neck is painted but it doesnât slow you down because itâs swift and smooth.
I was considering locking tuners but it stayed quite well in tune for a whole set during first band rehearsal. curious what a set of thicker strings will do.
Impressed by the quality and fun level of this guitar.
It only adds to my opinion that beginners should check HB guiotars but more experienced players will enjoy them as well; as project platform, as backup or as fun machine like in this case
Beign a neighbour to Germany, the guitar only took 2 days to arrive and shipping was free.
quick pic in the rehearsal room, the strap is a custom Holy Cow strap.
My guitar seems to have a darker, more black fretboard, which I prefer over the brown one in the picture. lucky me!
I nearly bought one of these some time ago (think it was maybe the black version with EMGs that I wanted) but it was long term out of stock so in the end I bought a different brand of Xplorer-style guitar in the end. Theyâve definitely got a great reputation for an inexpensive guitar
Congrats Lieven! Although a âcutlass-shapedâ one might have suited you better
It makes sense to buy a guitar whilst youâre waiting for the custom one to be built!
Iâm still very happy with my HB Fusion II from a couple of years ago. Stainless steel frets, locking tuners & maple neck. I defaced it immediately, so I couldnât sell it later on
Great service from Thomann as well
When are we going to hear it âchugâ (whatever that means)?
I never expected that I canât say âwhat a beautifulâ twice in a row ⌠while you (i just readâŚand I) donât like a headless guitars, I also donât like such a guitarbody ( unless youâre an aspiring teenager who starts playing metal ⌠see that a lot in the past .)
Oh heck yeah man. I bet James Hetfield from Metallica would love that guitar. I am almost sure he does not play a Harley Benton but it is dang close or does he?
I love it and your right, Itâs got some sweet Mojo.
