I have a very big smile on my face today. I opened up the box on my new lovely PRS SE Silver Sky this morning. I am very happy to have joined the PRS Club. I am very happy with the setup and it is significantly easier/nicer to play than my Epiphone Les Paul.
TL;DR This is the second part of my purchase following selling the microphone and pre-amp I won earlier this year. I recently sold the microphone and so had credit at Sweetwater. I knew I wanted an electric and really like the look of PRS guitars. I visited my local guitar center to try out what they had. I actually thought I wanted one of the more flamed maple types, however on my first visit, I actually preferred the feel of the silver sky in my hands. Early this week I went back to try again, with the same result, I preferred the Silver sky over all the other guitars I picked up.
So I went to Sweetwater and they also had discounts on them, I put one in my cart, went out for a bit, and later in the day my Sweetwater Sales Engineer called and offered me a discount on that price. Added in a strap and I paid less than I was going to pay earlier in the day. Glad I answered the call
I am really happy with what I got guitar, amp and strap and I still have credit at Sweetwater. This kid of thing never usually happens to me. I now understand the comments, of you have to pick the guitar that feels right to you, I was amazed how even from the same brand they all felt different. Still felt very self conscious trying guitars in the shop but really glad I did.
