I don’t have the Tom Delong Starcaster but I have a Squier Starcaster and it’s a great guitar, sounds great and is very comfortable to play compared to some other semi hollows. Sounds good unplugged too.
I actually think the recent white squier affinity Starcaster looks cooler than the Tom Delong and is probably more versatile …. and quite cheap.

Unfortunately only in the white I think, but it looks cool and about a quarter of the price of the Tom Delong Fender.
