NGD - Republic Tri-Cone Resonator

Finally found one at the right price and with the aesthetic I wanted. The Hawaiian-themed texturing in the metal gives the body a cool vibe! This will stay in Open D for now, as I am learning my way around Open D & Open E tunings.

The Tri-cone sounds so full and the 3 cones create an almost chorus-like effect.

The nut needs to be shimmed up a bit, and the action needs to be lowered a bit, but it plays pretty-good as-is :slightly_smiling_face:

Enjoy making music with the new one.

Sweet res.

awesome. I’m going to wind up with a resonator at some point, I’m sure. This one’s a beauty!

Great looking resonator! You will have loads of fun with it. If you are thinking of playing slide, you may wish the action to be a bit on the high side.

Happy NGD! The tri-cone is the only type that I don’t have yet, Hmm…:grin:

Wow

That will keep you warm at night

I have a Republic as well. Damn the action is high on it, great for slide licks, but a bear to incorporate fingered notes. I’m not sure about your model, but mine has two truss rods in it iff’n you’re looking to manipulate the action. Been a while since I picked mine up, prolly due for a pro set-up. Enjoy!

Happy NGD Eddie - I’m sure you’ll have lots of fun with it! Play it for us pleeeease! Resonators sound so cool!

I doesn’t sound very cool when I’m playing it…yet
