No sound from amp

Hey all,

I have an issue with my Fender Champion 20 (or guitar actually, but it seems like the amp) where no sound is coming out. It’s clearly powering up, the lights all work, the popping sound exists when I turn it off. No sound at all though, I’ve tried multiple cables. But what makes me think it’s the amp is that there is no crackling when I touch the bare connector or hold it near my guitar like there usually is.

Does this sound like my amp? Is there any other troubleshooting I can do?

Edit: my pickups are passive so there’s no battery and I’ve checked and had a look inside, can’t see any loose wires or anything.

If when the amp is powered on a turned up and you grab the connector of your guitar cable that you would plug into the guitar and there is no “noise” it’s the amp or cable.

If your cable connectors can be inspected via the sleeve do so. I’ll take a picture below. Ensure the soldering looks shiny and “wet”, and not loose.

If you are not able to inspect them, you can use a multimeter to check as well. If you are unable to do so, go get a new cable.

If that doesn’t resolve the issue, check the soldering to the speaker next. Again if it’s looks shiny and wet and not lose then I would recommend taking the amp to a professional to be inspected.

Oh and be careful, even off the capacitors in the amp hold a charge, hence why I recommend a professional versus trying to fiddle around too much.

Wishing you luck mate!

Thanks! I don’t think it’s the cable as I’ve tried others but I think the new cable I’ve got can be unscrewed, I’ll check it just incase.

My amp is under warranty still from the guitar shop so I’ll probably just be taking it back for a free repair.

Normally, I’d think cable, but you checked that.
Warranty is the way to go there.
If it happened out of warranty, that amp has a lot of connectors inside, and that would be my first check - reseat all the connectors.
