I am happily making progress. Setup for the OM was smooth. This recording made by recording a Zoom Meeting, with audio & video delivered via OBS. Will share details in the OM Tech topic.
I actually managed a Single Take Saturday play through of both the songs, one and done.
I think the recordings may have been just a little hot, so hopefully those with acute ears won’t hear too much evidence of any clipping at the louder moments.
Two well played and sung one and done songs David. Neither are songs I’m familiar with but I enjoyed your version of them both.
I haven’t listen to the recording of yesterday’s OM so I look forward to that too.
Well done.
I like how you made the foo fighters song your own without the need for that signature riff. I never could do that on off on off on riff so I shelved the song. This gives me a great example of how one can succeed in playing it. Great job on both songs. You sounded flawless and well prepared.
Hi David,
I have no active memories of this songs, but I do know that it makes me very happy to hear, but I think (well…‘know’ to be honest) that that is also because of seeing your face on the videos
@SDKissFan Thanks Jeff. Guess I don’t know the song well enough to play it by ear and just played what sounded OK to me based on my sense of it. I shall not go listen to the original
@Socio Thanks James. It is indeed good to be getting the guitar habit going. Right now just playing a few songs. But as I go I expect I may pick up some learning again.
@nadimz Thanks Nadim, appreciate it. Here’s a description of my OM setup
Wasted Sunsets is off the Perfect Strangers album, from the mid 80s. First album when MkII reformed. Sme decent songs and the title track is a cracker, one of my favourite DP songs
Very well done David on both songs, I knew none of them. What I like the most is the gentle sounding strumming with good dynamics too, especially on the first one. The vocals contribute much to make it a very enjoyable listening. Bravo! I’m really happy to read you feel your progress.
