Great performance, David. ![]()
Thanks for sharing; the second song, a ballad, is so beautiful and I don’t think I’ve ever heard it; now I know it thanks to you. ![]()
Thanks Tomasz, appreciate that. It is from Neil Young’s Harvest Moon album, which may not be as acclaimed as many others but does have some wonderful songs on it.
Great job David. Love your composure too. So relaxed. Did you do Dont Stop in E? Really really fits your voice. Loved it.
2nd song was a first for me. Gonna listen a few more times and study the lyrics. Great idea for a song.
Your timing (vocal /guitar) is right on.
Go get’em! Really enjoyed.
Very nicely played and sung David, those barre chord changes on the first song looked like a real workout to me, but you did really well keeping the strumming hand going (it looked so accurate all the way through!)…also I thought quite a lot of chords in that song, if you’re playing from memory as it seems that’s something I would be really proud of.
The second song I enjoyed much (I knew none of them) sung and played with much feeling.
Good stuff DP! Well done.
What a cool song, you played and sang it well.
Thanks for sharing.
Well done David! You did great yesterday.
David
Very good renditions of both songs. Particularly liked your take on Hank to Hendrix: your delivery reflected some of the songs inherent sadness.
Brian
Nicely done David, I also didnt know that Neil Young song but have heard some of the Harvest Moon tracks. I loved the progression it has a great “feel”.
Well done mate nicely played ![]()
Very enjoyable, David. The OM got by me this time, but I plan to watch the replay. Will get to watch you again. You did so well on these. Using the fretboard all up and down and good chord changes. I liked the songs too. So nice!
A couple of great song choices David. I enjoyed both of them particularly the NY one which I wasn’t so familiar with. Lots of barre chords in the FMac song too.
A confident performance. Well done my friend.
Hi David,
How nice to see that you are actively playing again thanks to the openmics…

that makes me smile
Let’s see what I’m going to do on the guitar tomorrow on a sunny day here ![]()
Greetings ![]()
That was most enjoyable, David! ![]()
I liked how you made “Don’t Stop” your own, really owning it. The second song was a new one for me and you made me like it instantly. ![]()
Sadly missed the OM this time, but your post is an appetizer for sure!
Two very enjoyable performances, David. A double treat of Fleetwood Mac & Neil Young.
Great job!! ![]()

Ah great to see and hear you play @DavidP
Good rhythm and relaxed flow.
I like how you played with the phrasing by applying your personal little touches.
Apologies for tardy acknowledgement and replies - been a crazy busy time at work.
@MiJoy Thanks. I’m no expert on keys, but given the chords are mostly A D E and it sounds cheerful to me, perhaps it is in A but the progression is IV V I. I seem to think I end with the A ringing which would support that as the natural ‘home’. That would mean the the B7 is not diatonic, since that would be Bm7. Glad the timing and feel felt good for you.
@Silvia80 Thanks so much. The first song I choose to play the barre chord voicing to introduce some variety in the sound, but it is largely E D A, with an extra B7 over and over again. The second is more tricky as the chords are the same in the verse but the order gets varied and the chorus is a little different. I do play and sing from memory. It took a few years to train my brain to be comfortable with that, so appreciate the compliment.
@CT Thanks very much
@Ontime Thanks, appreciate it
@erionstrings Thanks very much.
@beejay56 Thanks, appreciate that. I think it is sad and perhaps the marriage to the lady he loved and sang about in Like A Hurricane was already in trouble?
@CD02 Thanks very much. I think NY enjoys that key and it is also good for me from a singing perspective.
@pkboo3 Thanks very much. Great that we are both still here after so many years.
@sairfingers Thanks very much. I guess the FM song can be played without the barre chords but think the change in voicing adds something
@roger_holland Thanks. The OMs do help with commitment. But just playing a couple of simple songs is bringing the joy back without any stress to try and learn things
@Lisa_S Thanks so much. The show was great, sure you’ll enjoy the recording
@Willsie Thanks very much
@Bertha Thanks very much
@LievenDV Thanks very much - gotta have the personal touches as usually playing with all the nuances of the originals is beyond my camp-fire strum a dum dum ![]()
