As Justin doesn’t have a ton of content on heavy metal guitar techniques, I have been working through the Heavy Metal Rhythm Guitar vol 1 book by Troy Stetina to supplement the JG Intermediate program. This is the song from the end of chapter 5. Not perfect yet, but I am sick of this one enough that I think it is time to move on to chapter 6
Oh man, that was very very cool . Almost as if you were playing with yourself from a parallel universe. Mind-blowing.
I am definitely not at a stage to comment on the playing, but it definitely sounded superb to me.
Ha, yes, that is very true. Those two parts were recorded a couple weeks apart. I had to practice the second one a little longer before I felt confident with it.
Thanks!
Good work with the groove and the growl, in your tone Damien.
Fantastic groove. With those rhythm chops I hope you’re planning on learning some AC/DC soon.
Thanks! Not sure about AC/DC, but currently working on a Rush tune though.
Sounding good, Damien, playing and tone. You are clearly progressing well down your path.
People share in AVOYP for different reasons. If you are looking for more specific feedback, then you may need to be more explicit about that, and will probably get more of such feedback if you become more active in AVOYP listening and offering comments, either feedback or encouragement.
Each to his own, keep rocking and look forward to the results of chapter 6.
Sounds pretty good to me Damien, good to hear some Metal
Hi Damien,
…Nice one
Beautiful Ibanez, since this month I have her in black
Greetings,…
Well played Damien, really enjoyed it. Nice to hear some metal
Sounded good. Cool tone, timing excellent etc.
Liked how you recorded two parts. Sounds like it’s a 3 guitar piece with lead in there too - are you going to do the lead guitar later on the same song?
How are you enjoying it? I really like mine overall, though not perfect (though I doubt perfect exists anywhere…)
Thanks! Maybe one day, though I am choosing to focus on rhythm guitar for now.
I am not looking for anything specific. The last video I posted had some great feedback, as someone noticed I was off on my song by one bar. It was really helpful, and humbling. You never know what you might learn along the way when you out yourself out there.
I love playing this guitar…super light weight (mine is 2.36kg)…I like some physical things that don’t help playing the guitar…except… I have a lot of time. … …the small body means that I play a bit too far to or even on the neck even faster than “normal” … and the weird tuning went well right away … but I still have a lot to learn about it Haven’t even read the folder yet…
Now that is the way to rock it! Brilliant stuff Damien.
It’s above me to comment on anything technical but from a layman’s point of view it was fantastic.
I like the S2 Vela from your profile pic too. I have been wanting to try one for quite some time.
Thanks,
I am also very happy with that, looks and feel… feel free to come and try the guitar here, the door is open…You like to hike
That was great Damien really liked to whole vibe. Good to see you sharing again !
