Open Mic 29 Recording & After-Show Chat

Mmmh.
Now I can blame David’s lack of power … he provided the link !!

DAVID!!
Come on man, what the !!

I was loitering in the background during the show and also in the after show chat. Many spinning plates this weekend so I observed but did not engage, Interesting to take a back seat.

But another good JGC OM with some sterling performances. Call out to debutante @deiussum and 2 great fingerstyle songs, Kudos for playing Dust sir, was making progress on that before the Blues mania took over but would always crash and burn when that bridge showed up. So well done for show casing the song.

Big thanks yet again for Richard in pulling all the strings to make this happen and to David for tech support during the show and a super quick video turn around, considering some tea leaf ripped his lecky out ! Painful.

Sorry the Wirral Warbler had last minute problems, hopefully Mr L will bounce back for OM30 !

Oops great hosting Jenn as always - I needed to justify your “like”. Remiss of me to miss you out. As always you provide wonderfully cohesive glue to link all the sets together. Oh and of course keep Dan under control,

No worries and no justification needed

And yes, it’s some work making sure @DDye doesn’t go too out of control  :drum:

Thank you David @DavidP and Richard @Richard_close2u for putting up the recording!
Only the chat is missing.

Now I could truly enjoy Jennifer’s @Jenndye429 band - great performance! and @mathsjunky Paul’s very nice looping song!
And gladly, besides the mistakes, I didn’t dislike my own performance too much! It was just strange that you couldn’t see my right hand. Maybe I didn’t play the guitar myself?

Thanks for posting these Brian! I always enjoy your song selections.

Hope you figure out the zoom issue. It’s an odd one! Clearly something with zoom, but what you showed of your settings, everything looked right to me.

Thanks Toby! Dust if a tough one that I’ve been working on for longer than I’d like to admit. I definitely flubbed bits of it more than I’d like, but less that I feared I would.

I just watched my portion of the video to see how much I messed up and noticed that Misha, my German Shorthair Pointer made her debut as well. At one point I think she was trying to tell me, “Put the guitar away now and play ball with me.”

Also wanted to call out @mathsjunky Paul for the live looping! Brave choice and it worked out great!

Also thanks to everyone helping out behind the scenes and keeping things running smoothly!

No apologies needed David, just some mild ribbing of you and your electrical plight.

I see the link to the chat is available, but the security needs to be opened up.

Ah, yes! Permissions stuff…
Sorry @DavidP to disturb you again!

I’m about to rewatch the parts I saw live, but now I can appreciate them even more.
@deiussum great first time performance! Hope to see you more often!
@Alexeyd I was searching that song and performer while you played it… for me it was Beatles-related, but I couldn’t really think of more. Now while hearing a second time I remember - I got the CD at the time. It was John Lennon’s son Julian - “Saltwater”. And I have to say that I always love your performances - thank you!

I always look forward to seeing these, and congrats to all the performers, and thanks to everyone that works to make these happen. :+1:

Haha, now it has become a bit complicated!
I really don’t want to spoil your day having to read unnecessary stuff, sorry!
I had said the below…

quoting Mark:

just to confirm that the chat wasn’t available to everyone, adding the @DavidP so you’d really see it. And then then the forum software had automatically deleted the quotation, because the quoted text was only one post above. Without the link to Mark’s post, my text isn’t clear, I see!
