I tired to reply to each one and quickly gave up. I also belong to a Chevrolet Avalanche forum. Since they no longer make them, there are far less new members that we have here. Instead of commenting in each new member post, I simply welcome them by liking their posts.
One thing the Avalanche forum does that may help here is to have a single sticky thread in which new members introduce themselves vs. each new member creating a new thread.
I think the use of ‘like’ is still something I am getting used to in the Community now, since we did not really have the equivalent in the Forum. I find I am using ‘like’ far more frequently now, rather than a short positive reply that didn’t provide anything further in terms of additional feedback or answers.
And that is how it was on the Forum. I used to just read those without replying. Periodically somebody might post a general "Welcome to all the new folk’ message. The Welcome read and reply here is something that generates a lot of messages but seems to be settling down now, I think, though I haven’t looked at the Sub-category and analysed its activity.
@sairfingers Gordon this thread is a good example. I’ve only just seen it for the first time today.
If you go to Preferences/Categories/Muted you can choose to mute any Category that you don’t want to appear on the Latest page. @adi_mrok taught me this one. I’ve just muted Introductions.
Then, most of what you will want to read can be accessed by dipping into the categories that interest you. The ‘social’ and general categories are at the top. The lesson specific are further down.
Of course I do, Omar. So good to hear from you again. It has been a while my friend. How is life, how is the music-making? I continue on here in the Community, much as I have been doing since starting with JustinGuitar, just over 5 years back.
@DavidP
I’m glad to hearing from you too. All is well here, can’t complain how about you? I miss the days when we collaborated, I still have them, I hope we could do it again.
I’m no longer musically active, I suddenly abandoned music and fitness. I’m trying to get back to my old routine, hopefully very soon.
All is good, Omar. Life has been interesting over the last couple of years. But I have nothing to complain about.
I hope you get back to your guitar and fitness routines. I remember you had such a great home studio setup, some fabulous instruments, and were making some wonderful progress on playing some jazz guitar as I recall.
As for ‘The Madman’ … go check out AVOYP and you’ll find an entry of the Madman’s Diaries … fabulous … here’s the last one
So that’s what it takes to get a load of minions …seriously, you were made for the role! Generally the first with helpful advice in this forum (along with a couple of others who know who they are!).
