Hello all! I wasn’t going to post another vid for awhile as my already limited technology is even less now!
I don’t have any fancy gear, effects, DAW or anything like that except a couple of amps. Both I haven’t been using these days. My phone I used to play backing tracks and the like went on the fritz
…so I only have one phone to record with. So is the life of a gypsy!! Make do with what I have!!!
I’m mostly happy with my playing, practicing rhythm every day really seems to be paying off!
Like always, my main concern is staying tight in the pocket! The rest is just pure fun! Although I have been trying to find “my voice”. I may have limited forward momentum here. I"m actually quite surprised with myself.
Enjoy! Comments and critism are always welcome. Maybe some think it just purely isn’t on base.
Hi Darren, it’s great to meet you, mate and well done its always a great song to play and sing, of course, it always makes me want to pick my guitar up cheers HEC
A good cover of a difficult song. Your picking / strumming was fairly accurate throughout. It may be worth picking the melody out on the guitar and singing along to it; this might help develop a more accurate vocal. Well played!
Great cover man. I remember learning the riff early on when Justin added it to one of the lessons and I found it very difficult. You’ve made it look easy.
Well thank you very much brother and I am always happy when I inspire others! Nice to meet you as well. . The rhythm is what I always pay attention to the most when I sing! Although I have gotten a wee better.
Lol. Yeah, to be honest It is harder than it seems to sing and play. At least for me, I think some others would agree. . I would rather play rhythm and let someone else sing! Lol. But I managed to keep in the box for most of it to my surprise!
Yes what you say is true. Indeed I do, do this in a way…only just picking one note and trying to hit the right pitch. But that is low in my totem pole. Getting totally wicked with my groove with it just happening is what I’m centered on right now. Keeping to what I can do and keep in rhythm!
Ahhhhh yes, indeed it did come out then. Guess what? I have been practicing and playing that song since then!!! So at least 3 years. Almost have the solo down well now, but I never implement it in because I find without playing to the song I fall out of rhythm. I can play it pretty good to the song. But without that other part, difficult. Anyways, yeah started painfully slow and took me months to play intro correctly. Been playing that song almost every day since the first day I was taught it by Justin!
Hi Darren, I’m a bit late…
The work you’re putting into the Rhythm is really paying off: you’re doing such a great job with that right hand and it sounds really good!
A capo might be a good idea to explore your vocals. What works for me when I’m not in tune is listening really a lot to the original recording and sing along over and over, do my mistakes and correct them along the way.
