I search first, always have because it drives me a little crazy, too, to see the same questions, but as others say, there are nuances. And if I’m still not seeing exactly what I need to ask, I will ask and really try to be even more specific. Plus, a lot of times, including here, I swear the search engine just doesn’t “get” what I’m asking, and I can’t find it! lol. I also find it amusing when I am starting a new topic over on the right, I’ll see this box telling me here are 5 similar threads, “are you sure you want to continue?” and yet they are NOThING like what I am saying! 
So I say, ask away, we were all newbies once, or twice, or more.
