I reviewed the lessons through module 1. I went to use the practice assistant and itās blank. thatās not thought out very well. beginners donāt know what to practice. thatās why we are here. there should be a list of practices topics that are in a drop down that grow when you complete a module. flor now, you ask pure beginners to name and contruct a practice session. Thatās disappointing and counter-productive. I realize I could spend the time to build things, but we should be focused on guitar, not software.
Brian I presume you are referring to the website rather than the app. At the of end of module 1 there is a lesson called Module 1 practice routine. On that page there is an option to add the routine to the practice assistant.

Alright. I see where you can open a module, save it as an active routine, and then see the menu items in the practice assistant. That works. You just have to figure it out. I reviewed the lesson on the app again. Justin states the app will tell you āexactly what you need to practice.ā It will only do so once you build your practice structure perhaps using what you found in the modules.
Your post should be included in module 1ās lesson on how to use the app (or website).
Always good to watch the lessons and read the text on the website in conjunction with the app.
The lessons on the website are as far as Iām aware the same as those on the app but with the added benefit of some notes on the web page.
Iām not familiar with the app anymore but there are many members on here that are and always happy to help out with any questions on using it.
As for the practice assistant tool on the website there is a lesson in Module 1 on how to use it and on the practice assistant page in the about tab there is another video on using it. Again lots of folk on here use the website practice assistant tool, so always someone to answer any questions on using it.

Iāve followed the lessons through level 1, module 3. I find the structure to be settling for me. I have one issue and ask you since you gave a great response to my original post. In module 3, songs practice, thereās no example for tempo and strum on songs 2 and 3. the first one, I faked it alright with what we learned. the software layout for play-along is new and confusing for now. What strum pattern should we have for song 2? who knows? I had to resort to one down stroke for each beat. Hell, I donāt even know what rhythm that song has. Iāll look that up next. Thanks for being a sound board.
Hello Brian, Iām not familiar with the latest version of the lesson and song app. I do recall there was an option to see the suggested strumming pattern for the songs being played. Others will be able to give some better guidance on using the app.
As for the songs recommended by Justin in the modules lesson video, I think itās more about exploring and putting into practice the two strumming patterns introducing up strums that you have been learning in a musical context.

As for songs itās also worth checking out the song lessons on the website. You can filter them by grade and by chords you know. Justin teaches songs in levels building in difficulty, so you can always revisit songs as you progress to work on taking the songs you have learned up a level.
I appreciate it. I just completed module 4 practice. All areas are fine except for the song practice. Justin asks to try strumming patterns. the flow is so quick Iām lucky to land one strum. If anything here needs improvement, itās the play-along software. I would appreciate any tips. I guess I could write down the name of the song and find it elsewhere online. At any rate, Iāll keep my fingers on the strings.
I understand that the songs can be slowed down on the song app. Iām sure active users of the app within the community can advise how this is done.
I donāt have the app anymore but there used to be vertical slider zt the right of the screen to adjust the speed, if I remember correctly
