@Just_Dan thanks.
I would say it’s satirical punk rock. If you haven’t watched the original video, it’s great.

Thanks for introducing this 90s song to me. CoPilot says it’s “Punk rock, pop-punk, alternative rock” but your “satirical punk rock” genre fits. I watched the original video but actually prefer watching your video since I can see how you’re playing it. Your sunglasses and cool attitude are a really good contrast to the music. Excellent job.
That was the best part of my morning.
Swamp Blues is one of my favourite kinds of Blues, and I love the simple riff in this song, so much that I decided I had to learn how to play it, with a personal twist. Part of BLIM 3 module 4, posting here for wider visibility.
Haha, I thought it has to be Justin sitting there on the sofa with that beautiful guitar and the cap on the head! ![]()
Well… and the cool sound too of course! Well done, Erion! ![]()
I also enjoy this type of riff! Just thought I’d learn something else because when I heard the song first (in Justin’s lesson while I was in BLIM 2) I just found the lyrics too explicit, haha ![]()
Thanks Dominique
Oh, so it’s not about bees?

tbf it’s safe to this is true of a lot of the songs! ![]()
Love this guitar part! You’ve done it well Erion.
Yeah I thought it was about the super amazing apiarists we have. ![]()

Edit. Oh awsome upload. I like how you did the solo section. I did the just high pitched zing sound like a stinger. Sort of like the bb 17 fret lick without the slide down in the first set of melody licks.
I just found the lyrics too explicit, haha
It’s one reason I prefer instrumentals!
: )
A LOT of the blues are pretty racy… : |

Yeah, drape a blanket over the couch… Hmmm, perhaps Erion is the “new Justin”? Certainly has the chops.
That was great, Erion! Timing was spot on. You did a great job. Looking forward to hearing more from you!
But they can also be pretty funny. One of my Johnny Winter faves has a chorus that goes like this:
Check out her Mama, before you say I do
Check out her Mama, just between me and you
If her Mama ain’t fine, you better take your time
She’s gonna look just like her Mama on down the line…
Erion, I appended this to your earlier AVOYP shared in October. To manage business we stick to a single topic per person per month, which can contain multiple recordings.
Oh, ok. Thanks David. I didn’t realise that. I’ll stick to one avoyp topic per month going forward.
No worries and thank Erion. One of those mentioned in the information post but easily missed.
Love this song. Very well played sir
Well done. I’m wondering what grade you’re in with JG when this was recorded? Sounded great. Very catchy. I guess you found the BLIM course worth it? I’m wondering if I’m ready for that. I’m deep into grade 3 now.
@jvlynch Grade 4 with JG.
“Pretty Fly” isn’t covered in BLIM, so not really related. However, yes, I have found BLIM very beneficial.
