I did search for the answer, to be sure, before I posted. 
Could someone tell me how to private message? I did not find any instructions on it. I tried the tutorial and couldn’t figure it out in a few minutes and just thought I would ask.

Just tip at the username of the person you want to send a message. A new window opens with the user’s profile. In the upper right corner you’ll find the message button. Tip and the messenger opens.
