Question about posting videos

Sometimes I just try to play things that I like. I still am working on fundamental things all the time, but for example, I was trying to learn the intro to ā€œThe Loneliness of the Long Distance Runnerā€ by Iron Maiden. I’m just picking at it as I read it, and having fun. I can’t play all of it, I’m just having a good time with my guitar. I do this all the time, just trying to pick melodies and play them. It would be cool to post stuff like that, like here’s a cool bit of a song I like, and I might continue to try to learn it or just the one bit. I wanted the group’s take on this, I don’t want to be the annoying video guy, or people to think I think I’m better than I am. I know I have a VERY long way to go. It doesn’t matter though. Learning is way more fun than knowing it seems. This trip never ever ends.

On the main page of the forum there is a Communuty Recordings Section, in there you will find 7 subsections. ā€œAudio Video of You Playingā€ would the the place to put your videos

Or you can start a Learning Log in the Community Hub if you want to keep track of you videos and progress. You will get better feed back in your Learning Log from the community.

Scott, appreciate you taking a moment to consider what is appropriate. Rest assured you can go ahead and post your videos and nobody will consider you ā€˜annoying’ or think you are full of yourself.

To add to Rick’s reply. An approach taken by some is to place work-in-progress recordings in their Learning Log and final versions, where final is ā€˜I am happy and moving to work on something else’, not necessarily a complete song, in AVOYP.

Hi Scott,
It’s nice that you’re going to try it again here, it doesn’t matter that you ask again how it works, but you’ve been here before (much has been deleted from previous topics or parts for various reasons), but you’ve already had the advice for these kinds of things where to post and you’re also familiar with posting videos, right?.. even if you ask things 10 times it doesn’t matter, but I’m just curious, I hope you have your life back in order and find some luck again after some terrible time .

You can’t do much wrong here. as long as it comes from the good intention it’s fine and the mods or’ we’ will guide you …An LL is good for posting ā€œloose fragmentsā€ and songs in process or sharing different thoughts about a lot .

Greetings,Rogier

Yeah the first time I was here, I was an obnoxious new guy who was going to do things differently than everyone else. Ive since realized that things are done the way they are for very good reason and things like changing chords on a beat are some of the most important things to learn if not THE most. Ive also seen some other guitar communities filled with angry mean people. I wanted to come back, with a new perspective, and really be a positive part of the great community here. Seriously. This is extremely important to me.

A learning log would be the perfect place to post work in progress videos

Hi Scott.
A Learning Log would be ideal.
Do you know how to find your old topics.
You have a recent and an older log.
If you’re dking a reset leave the old one for posterity and use the new one.
