Recently I’ve been volunteering at daycare centers for mentally challenged people.
It is… different…
Anyway, here is the last piece of the last gig:
Alexey
Very pretty piece and, as ever, beautifully played. I have worked in a care home with older residents, some of whom have dementia. Music can stimulate interest, enjoyment and exchange from even the most unwell: they are different, but made less so by the bridge that music builds.
Brian
Till now I only had 2 gigs in 2 of those homes. First time there was a guy who shouted “I will kill you” for 20 minutes, like a metronome…
Second time, there was a guy who would walk to me after every tune to say hello.
Funny thing, the second guy through me off much more…
Lovely playing Alexey, and great respect for your work with the needy.
Beautifully played and going by the applause the audience thought so too
Thank you for posting this, very lovely indeeed.

Wonderful! - your playing, the song, your engagement to play at this place!
I imagine calm pieces like this one work well in such an environment!
And - did you turn the amplifier to the wall so the sound would be projected more evenly, having a more ambient sound?
Wow Alexey that is some sound playing man cheers Hec
Thanks.
Yes, this is the method used by Tommy Emmanuel and Joe Robinson.
The amp should actually stand on the floor, but when I have to stand so close to it, almost above it, I’m not hearing anything but the bass notes.
Great piece again.
If I am here live I would not say a word and silently breathe… some people around still talk, Idk their health status.
Lovely piece to listen.
