Hi there, I’m new to the site. I have a Line 6 Pod Go and I’d like to start with some elementary PC based recording. Could anyone recommend an open source (or cheap) but straightforward Windows based DAW that would be good for a beginner.

I’ve been using Waveform. It’s completely free and works fine with Amplitube and various other plugins I have. Pretty simple and straightforward, which is one of the reasons I went for it, and the manual is good. Perfect for a beginner methinks.
Reaper is pretty popular. Not open source but cheap.
Thanks. Just downloaded the free version and on first glance it looks pretty easy to use, which is just what I wanted.
