New song. Different from my others- less story and more impressionistic. Also departs from the traditional verse, chorus, bridge structure.

Interesting song that kept me listening. The picked accompaniment was steady and, like the song, slightly melancholy - minor chords perhaps? Why are sad songs sometimes so enchanting? Liked it a lot.

Beautiful and touching song! Love the picking and the dynamics.
I enjoyed another original from you. It’s been awhile. Lovely fingerpicking and great vocals. Missed watching you on video though.
Thank you, Brian. For better or worse, I definitely gravitate towards melancholy songs, and yes, there’s a Bm chord in this that plays a key role.
Thank you, Molly.
Thank you, Pamela. I’ve neglected everything Justin for several months because I’ll be playing a couple of gigs back in my home town in September with two friends who live in other parts of the country. We’ve been preparing 25 cover songs, working together from long distances.
This song interrupted that process 2 days ago. I just woke up at 4:30 a.m. with chords to a new song in my head and couldn’t get back to sleep. So I got up and started noodling on the guitar. Of course, by then I’d forgotten the chords that woke me, but came across a progression I liked, then came up with a melody, modifying the chords as needed. Then I added the lyrics last on this one. It was about 6 hours of obsessive work, almost all at one sitting. That’s often how song writing goes for me.
What a lovely tune, Jay! Liked the picking pattern and the melancholic vibes a lot. Quite impressive to get such a tune out in only 6 hours.
Cool to rea about the upcoming gigs, too - sounds like loads of fun!
that fast vibrato (and a little echo?) on your voice is haunting. The picking is nice and steady - great job!
Fabulous
