Returning after a hiatus

Hi guys!

I haven’t been here for a long time, more specifically since January of this year, when I stopped really practicing with my strat. I had a very important university entrance exam in June and after that I went on holidays, graduated… But now I have all the time in the world and recently got my motivation back thanks to getting into the band Ghost and want to keep going where I left.

My main problem is remembering what I learned. I’ve been playing the classical guitar for 7 years so chords and basic things aren’t something to worry about, but the main theory is.
How should I go on about it? I left on Course 4 and want to dedicate at least an hour a day to play the guitar and learn the solos of songs I like.

Welcome back Crow

I’d go back a few modules and reveiw them as a refresher to where you left off.

Have you taken Justin’s Practical Music Theory course? The first 2 grades are free. That’s the best way to understanding theory.

Good to see you Crow welcome back.

Life gets in the way sometimes and you just have to prioritise. As for catch up and getting back up to speed, as Rick says go back over the early modules for a refresh, it should not take you long. I am wondering by Course 4 you are referring to Grade 4 on the lesson path or level 4 in the Theory Course ? Either way a revisit to pick out what needs additional focus, would be the best approach.

Another Ghost fan! Yeah, they’re absolutely amazing and I wanna see them live so bad. Funny thing that I ignored them dor quite some time because I thought they’re some black/death metal band. What a surprise it was to hear Square Hummer, check the band and discover one of the best modern rock bands.

@metramaks and @Crow_01 … Again Ghost? :slightly_smiling_face:. That’s now already four people praising Ghost within one or two weeks :grinning::grinning::grinning:

For a long time I had mainly ignored them because I found “Dance Macabre” too kitschy. Then they happened to play at that festival approx a week ago, to where I was going anyway. So, I started listening to their albums over the last months… I agree, they are great.

Artem, they played “Square Hammer” as well (it was the last so of their set if I remember correctly) and it was fantastic live!!! :grinning:

Lucky you! I hope I’ll be able to attend concerts and festivals soon, because my “must see” list is getting out of control.

I understand perfectly. There are many things, I would like to add, but shouldn’t, because of the forum’s “no politics” rule… :pensive: Soon, very soon hopefully, this will be possible again.

@JokuMuu @metramaks Haha hell yeah! It’s slowly becoming one of my favourite bands! Thanks to them I got my motivation back just so that I can play their songs’ solos XD
