Just started working through the Rhythm Reading book (a Christmas present) and wondering if anyone has any recommendations as to how long to spend on each group of excercises.
Hi Scott. I bought the book early last year, but I haven’t had too much chance to work on it. Same with the sight reading book. The way I would use the book is spending no more than five minutes of daily practice (or whatever frequency you practice is) on an exercise (in fact with the sight reading this is needed to avoid memorizing the exercise). The rest of your practice you can use it for other exercises you are working on. I would stay practicing an exercise until I can feel that most of the time I am doing it well. You can set up a goal of times you want to do the exercise correctly before moving to the next. Practice with metronome because this is about time measurement.
