Riffs 2 string

Hi
I’m on that second module. Strumming etc.
There is a module for 2 string riffs. What is a riff and how do you read the “ chart?”
Thanks

Hi @Conor78, you know when a song has a guitar part that’s very recognisable, so that when you hear it you immediately say: “That’s that song!”? That’s a riff.

As for the ‘chart’, I suppose you mean the tab on the website:

The 6 lines represent the 6 strings of your guitar. The top line is the high e, so the bottom string, the bottom line is the low E, so the top string. The numbers on the lines indicate which string(s) should be played, and on which fret the string should be fretted. So, for the example in this lesson this means that you only have to play the low E string. First you see two zeros. This means you should play the open string. The next one is a 2. This means you should put your finger on the second fret, and so on.

Have fun!

Hi Conor,

Here’s a link to a video where Justin explains how to read TAB.
