Riviera Paradise - Beginner Cover (Intro piece only)

Hi all!

Last month marked 1 year of playing guitar!

It’s been amazing fun, learning open chords, to struggling with barre chords, scales and just trying to wrap my head around this piece of wood’s mechanics.

I feel like just now I’m begging to tie my shoes to get ready for a life long journey of learning the complexity of this instrument. I’m at a point where I sort of know what type of music I want to play and spend years working on, and it’s all thanks to the online community surrounding this hobby and the online educators like Justin.

Here’s my not-so-perfect version of the intro piece of SRV’s beautiful song Riviera Paradise!

I know I could’ve done a few more takes on it to smooth out the muted strings and other mistakes, but I believe this is a more accurate representation of my current playing.

Guitar is a Fender Strat, neck/middle pickup, amp is a Boss Katana 3rd gen, recorded with my iPhone’s mic (if you can’t tell by the amateur sound haha)

That’s a bit outrageous after only one year of playing guitar! :open_mouth:

Super stuff Teodor considering how long you’ve been playing. Well done.
You’ll get a lot more views if you post video of you playing.

Thank you!

I’m quite camera-shy, but I’ll consider it!

A BIG well done, and after just one year. Not an easy piece to play, I look forward to hearing more of your recordings.

Thanks a lot!

Just now I realised I’ve been playing the wrong chords. On the recording I’m playing Em7 → A6 → Ab6 then Dm7 → G6 - Gb6. Turned out Em7 and Dm7 are actually Gmaj7 and Fmaj7 and so on. The Minor7 chords I’ve been playing should be their relative major.

I’ve got to re-record it now that I know that

Hi, Well that’s alright you know have a different version of it.

Love the sound ! Very well done ! I love the original too … but I don’t compare : Yours is beautiful
