I can’t see the Chord Grips images (under the Learn More tab) - they seem to be broken… Does anyone else have that issue?

Welcome to the forum Chris. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll notify @Richard_close2u see if he can fix the link to the images.

Thanks for the alert @ChrisJLewis [ and @stitch ] I have reported the issue to the team.

i’d love to see a bit about the lead guitar bit that comes in in one of the choruses/bridges, as its a bit different than the main riff i believe

I’m finding it hard to slide the power chord up and down fast enough. Moving between 5th and 6th string is fine though. Is there some exercise to get faster at moving the power chord? Or is this song already the best exercise for that?

I think the song will be the best way (and has the advantage of teaching you a song). Stuff like this does take time at first, more time than we’d like to think but it does get better. Try not to rush to get to full speed. Better to practice more slowly and accurately than sounding sloppy and rushed

Does anyone know if the part of the riff with power chords and distortion is palm muted? Not the G and A power chords, those clearly aren’t, but the 5th string 7th fret and on, starting at either 0:25 in the beginning demo or about 5:10 in the descriptive section. I think it looks like it’s not, but I am wrong about a lot of things a lot of the time.

I do not hear any muting. muting starts back about 0:45.

Hi @artax_2

I listened this morning to the section at 5:10, hoping I didn’t miss anything in my fast response last night. I still do not hear any unusual muting. There are a few places they he uses palm muting to stop the strings ringing to get a chopped feel on the chord. You can hear it for sure, and it is something you can do yourself if muting a chord is familiar to you.

There is of course the muting of strings you don’t want to hear while a chord rings out, but I don’t think that is what you are asking about.

That’s what I was thinking too. Overall not palm muting, except maybe a mute immediately before changing chords. That would take me some practice to be able to do. Thanks for checking again and confirming my thoughts.
