She Sells Sancturary - The Cult

A few mistakes, particularly the change to the 5th string power chords, and I think I caught the open A string once… One I’ll keep working on but I wanted to post it anyway for feedback. The tone is from a Quad Cortex, I didn’t dial it in, just grabbed it from the cloud and made a few tweaks.

It’s a fun one to learn and play though.

Any feedback is welcome. Thanks

Nice Rick. Thats such a killer song.

The Cult was way ahead of their time. You rocked it. :sign_of_the_horns:t2:
You kept the time very well maintaining the temp the whole way and the heavy and the light tough was represented too.

Very cool 1980s vib. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: :sign_of_the_horns:t2:

He was definitely using a flanger effect on that guitar, also a chorus maybe. Great tune.

Thanks Jason, it is such a classic I heard it a while ago and thought I gotta add it to my list.

Well done Rick. Not my sort of music so I can’t really comment on the song but it was played nicely with good tempo.

Loved that song since I was a student in the 80’s. Great playing. Loved it.

One of my favourite songs of all time. Takes you somewhere. I really like the sound of your guitar and your playing is good. I don’t know how you managed to get that otherworldly tone.

I can’t take credit for the tone I just downloaded it from the cloud and altered the levels so it wasn’t clipping and sounded better through my sound system.

I just had a look though it’s an overdrive, chorus pedal, flanger, analog delay and some reverb after the cab and amp.

Hi Rick,

Banging tune. Those were the days.
Still sounds fresh today - and far superior to much that is produced these days.
What I like, and if memory serves Billy Duffy wrote something similar in the notes on a box set, the guitar part isn’t over played (using 1000 notes when half a dozen will do). Just great hooks/melodies that serve the song.
Great job.

The neighbours are now going to have to listen to the original - and I’ll tell them to blame you.

Digger
