I thought the Ramones would play barre chords and not power chords? They definitely play all downstrums

Hello @tguny and welcome to the community.
Most bands who play loud, fast rock with overdrive will favour powerchords as they are quicker to change between and the sound has more clarity compared to full barre chords when the amps are working hard.
