If using a sock, I would recommend placing it under the strings at the higher fret end, not next to the bridge. It has the potential to snag your strumming and finger picking technique pretty bad.
I just play a solid bodied electric without plugging it in. Works for me…
Holy shish kabob! I just got a Yamaha SLG200S from a local music store and WOW! I love this guitar. Great feel and really great sound with the headphones. This is absolutely a game changer for me as a new student. Not only can I practice anytime now, it is so much easier to use as I’m learning. I took Justin’s advice in module 1 and have been using an electric guitar for ease of use and this is the best of both worlds. No pedals or IRs needed. Just plug into flat/clean amp or use headphones for great acoustic sound. I’m waiting for a Yamaha THR30II to go on sale to accompany the guitar. Saw a video on Youtube with the two together and it sounded pretty darn sweet. THANK YOU and the others in this tread for the suggestion.
