Singing journey Step One

Hello all!

In case anyone’s interested, I thought I’d post this link to a live playing video I just posted:

I’ve only recently discovered that I can kinda sing a little.

I’ve decided to put some effort into developing my singing because I’ve always loved to do it but never been good enough for anyone else to enjoy it.

After making some significant improvement (believe it or not…lol), I forced myself through the near-debilitating stage fright and literally set up on a street corner in a town where nobody knows me.

I filmed the results and edited the video down to a few minutes to document my starting point. I’ll film another video in a year, with maybe some progress clips in the interim, and see if I can get good enough to do regular paid gigs.

I’m keen on any feedback on my singing and/or playing. Feel free to be critical as I need to get better.

THanks for taking a look!

Nathan

You’ve got a fine singing voice. Keep them coming.

I was an accidental singer. When I first started playing acoustic everyone said it’s harder to sing and play so I only concentrated on the playing. My wife would sing the first song I learned and I’d just play. After about 50 or more times with her singing, I accidentally started singing along with her in the chorus and that was definitely a light bulb moment.

Since then I’ve been singing to every song I learn and yeah, it’s a lot of fun.

Nathan, you have a great singing voice and a lovely rendition of one of my favourite Neil Young songs. Welcome to JG

Sorry Nathan, I’m not on social media so I couldn’t have a listen. If you put this on you tube (free to do) and post the link here, more people will see it. I bet it’s great.
