I have been learning the B minor pentatonic scale, I usually play E or A, as I am also learning the solos from comfortably numb and hotel calfornia, both in Bm. I tend to learn these by just jamming up and down the positions, which i did this time, but started adding some licks from these solos. I decided to try and create a solo of my own. I did it in 3 parts which i managed to, sort of, edit together. It is very basic and probably needs some effects, further editing, or maybe binning and starting again.

Well done Ross I’m definitely hearing hints of some well known solos in there! It sounded like there were some implied chord changes going on. In the next version, where you add in some effects, could you maybe also add the accompanying chords as a backing track?
@twistor59 Thanks the listen and the comments,much appreciated. I will add the chirds if i can figure out what they are. Most of my playing consists of me making stuff up as i go along
Cool little solo! If I may offer a bit of constructive feedback;
First and foremost, on the note choices - I thought you did really well here! You seemed to target many interesting (in a good way) notes, implying an underlying chord progression. Used repetition, slide-ins, bends and a bit of rhythm. It did not sound like just walking up and down a scale. It sounded like actual musical ideas.
On the execution I noticed especially two things:
Bends often ended up quite flat (not bent up all the way to pitch). A very, very common issue/problem with many beginning solo guitarists What gauge of strings are you using? If you’re really struggling with strength, perhaps consider going lighter. Or, if you have the strength, I would recommend doing targeted practice on hitting the pitch on bends. For you and the style of music you seem to be wanting to play I would put this as an absolute number 1 priority to get sorted.
A second technical issue that you might not be aware off - I notice that often when you want to apply vibrato, you end up pulling the string a bit sharp at the same time. Check visually what’s happening… perhaps you’re pushing the strings a bit up, or pulling them downwards, when doing the vibrato movement with your left hand.
@Kasper thanks for listening and for the comments, much appreciated. I have been working on my bends, i tried lighter strings but prefer standards. This was my first attempt at this, i recorded it as i was working out. I thought i would record it as well as write it down so i would remember as i worked on it. Once i feel it is finished i will practice it to improve it. I will work on the vibrato as well
