Wasn’t really sure where the best place to post this was, but I just wanted to share this little anecdote. Hopefully it’ll give you all a little smile.
I recently shared with a good online friend of mine that I’d resumed trying to learn the guitar, and she was really excited for me. She’d also tried to learn, but she shared with me that her guitar had broken a couple of years ago and she is currently without a job, but getting a new guitar was on her “to do” list once she found a job.
Well, with how much I’ve been enjoying learning here, and in the spirit of paying it forward, I just decided to buy her a guitar. She doesn’t know I’ve done that (well, she knows I got her something; I just haven’t told her what), so I’m excited for her reaction when it arrives in a few days.
I made sure to tell her where I’d been studying, so hopefully she will give Justin a try and hopefully she will find him as helpful and inspiring as I did.
What a fabulous gesture, I can just imagine her face when she sees her present.
The best I could manage today was to tell a customer in a store we were in that his shoe lace was loose and he risked tripping.
Don’t underestimate the importance of looking out for someone. You may have spared him a stumble and a bit of embarrassment at best and a painful face plant at worst. Every little bit counts.
It’ll come back to you ten times. I’m a firm believer of that. We need more people doing selfless acts of kindness towards one another. She’ll love it and appreciate it for sure!
Quick follow up: she received the guitar today and she loves it. She sent me an unboxing video and everything; it was lovely to watch. And she’s signed up on JustinGuitar, so here’s wishing her well on her journey!
