I love it when a plan come to order.
Well done Ian, and now is the best time, you get to play it and it looks like you have made a very nice job of her so relax now and enjoy mate. Again well done cheers Hec happy new guitar
Oh Wow!!!
Sweeeeeet!!!
That is a really good lookinā stratā¦ the rosewood fingerboard is a beautiful contrast to the bodyās color & really āpopsāā¦ love the pickguard with complementing strap!!!
Nice job Ian!
Have fun playing her now!
Tod
For a strat it looks ok!
Gorgeous flame neck
Well funny you say that because I have two telecasters. I love teles and I wasnāt that interested in getting a Strat. But I thought it would be fun to build a guitar, and decided a 3rd tele would be a bit too much.
However, after this experience, which has been really positive, Iām now thinking of building a tele, but with a single coil bridge and a P90 in the neck.
That sounds good! If you already have a SS tele why not a p90? They sound different enough and IMo are a much nicer looking guitar than most strats
Is that a kit or just a nice picture of a custom guitar? That is something Iād be interested in.
pretty sure warmoth do a tele body like that
thinline tele with spalted maple top and binding
Thatās a great idea. Beautiful guitar.
I just posted a random pic of a P90 thinline from a Google image search.
Looking up where it came from points to this Reverb listing. Itās a Micheal Kelly 59 Thinline.
EDIT: spalted maple top kits are a thing, so it shouldnāt be too hard to find one to your liking.
pretty good price, but the pictures of the goods donāt render for me. I need to go to an evil browser i guess.
Huh, thatās not tort. I just clicked through on the pic and itās rosettes, I really like that too!
Sorry about that
Itās not a tortoise shell pickguard. Itās called tiger brown, but itās a sort of small leopard skin pattern but in brown, black and pearl gold flecks; hence the strap. Itās quite unusual. I did originally intend tortoise shell then saw this one.
Iāll post some decent photos with good lighting once Iāve finished off the last couple of things.
Your pictures are fine, save your time for your guitar. Iāve switched from a phone to my laptop and cleaned my glasses.
Congrats. Iāve just been through the same process. Mineās simpler, but I have a cunning plan to do another! I want to make a Steampunk version.
Thatās a beautiful Strat. I like the colour of the wood. What sort of wood is that?
Fretboard looks really nice too!
Itās Paulowina. I used a grain filler with a tiny hint of dark oak dye, then finished with Tru-Oil. The feet board is Blackwood on Maple. I added Musicily inline locking tuners but should have spent more time shaping the headstock!
Assume its pretty light weight then ? I have 7 growing in my large field, so a potential future project ?
