I’ll get this out there, i stink at the percussive beats. They sound better in the room than on the recording, and I’m better at it now than I was last week, but I’m not really getting the sharp rattle.
Spent way too much time on this, about 20 hours. Open to any constructive criticism

Epi LP recorded via Spark Go with the Marshall and Klon clones
Bass is the same LP just dropped an octave in Audacity which I used to mix it.
Hey Paul - I like it! With the percussive strum, a video might help with some pointers, but I think you really need to relax into it, and that just takes time for it to become more automated.
… and this is all you can ever really ask for! Stuff takes time.
The melody was cool - one or two timing issues - I find it can help to play along with an original recording if you can find one in the right key.

Justin demo’d the song with it on beat 4 as well, which doesn’t happen in the original but that shouldn’t have stopped me being able to copy it, but it did.
This was actually the point of picking this song - getting better at copying rhythms that arent immediately natural to me. I think i roughly achieved this when compared to the original, but ultimately I’d like to be able to consciously alter different parts like Justin shows he can do.

I’ve actually spent time on tone lately, as twiddling knobs and shopping for amps and pedals just eats into practice time. The secret for the lead is the Klon clone. Definitely going to buy a physical one.
Good job getting a song up, if your interested in a klon. Try the Not-A-Klon from JHS. Pretty solid Klon Clone and you put it togeather your self. So its not going to murder you in the cost depart ment. Its a super easy snap togeather. Almost impossible to mess up. Just a thought.
