Is Transcribe a different type pf software to Guitar Pro? I already have Guitar Pro.
I think Transcribe is literally to write music down or record it in some way. The course is about breaking down recordings so as to isolate and record the important bits.
While we are on it, there is a great app called Moises that can help you do this…

Transcribe! isn’t notation software.
You load an audio or video file into it and it gives you a load of tools to help you listen to and analyse the track.
Some of these are as simple as looping sections and slowing it down, others include a powerful EQ and note analyser.
You can do a some of what Transcribe! does in other software, including in Guitar Pro, but I find the features and workflow of Transcribe! sets it apart from a lot of the other options.

Worked on the Eric Clapton back track the past 2 days. 2/3 of the way done or so. It was a great guitar playing day when I was finally able to get at it. I didn’t want to stop.
Might as well get your info about Transcribe! from the horse’s mouth (AKA the vendor): Transcribe! - Software to help transcribe recorded music
There are a number of similar programs, such as Amazing Slow Downer, and you can do much of what Transcribe! does in a DAW or an audio editor. But the focused transcription aid tools make it easier with tools and a UI focused on that task.
