Hi Team, I have an electric guitar ( impulsively bought) and a spark apm , i have never learnt to operate an electric guitar but want to do it , looking for some short video on playing eletric guitar, i know there are several tones and other pieces i an explore on my electric guitar. Looking forward for some guidance.

hi @Richard_close2u Infact both, i have been using Acoustic most of the time i am on this journey but really fascinated by the sounds that electric guitar makes but never got out of comfort zone to try it even though i have the gears and guitar itself. i have this guitar Fender Limited Edition Player Telecaster Electric Guitar, Maple Fingerboard and Spark Amp. I would be happy to even use my electric guitar just to practice modes, scales and arpeggios but with a good tone.
The best way to find how your guitar and amp sound good together is start with a repeatable tone.
1)Set your amp to the clean channel
2)set all the noobs to 5 including the guitar(volume and tone)
3)adjust volume on the amp to a reasonable volume
4) start with the volume and tone on the guitar and see how they change the tone. You’ll be surprised how much the volume changes tone not just volume.
5)write down the setting you like.
Now that you know how the guitar sounds move to the amp and repeat.
Without know what your guitar sounds like clean you will be chasing tone forever.
For practicing you should always use a clean setting until you have the technique your learning down solid. Distortion and other effects can cover up mistakes and don’t help you learn

As for ‘good tone’.
Consider this.
A crummy guitar through a great amp will sound pretty darn good.
A great guitar through a crummy amp, will sound like a crummy amp.
Myself, I’ve had one of these crummy amps (it was not a spark). Any guitar I plugged into it, plain had crummy tone. There didn’t seem to be any setting on that amp that made it sound good.
While my playing ain’t that great, through a reasonable amp, I ‘can’ sound ok to me, with good tones that I like.
That crummy amp I had I got rid of. It just didn’t have any good tone in it to me. Unless you liked the sound of a battery powered hand held AM radio from the 1960’s with a 1’’ speaker in it. Which is what that amp I had sounded like I thought.
I don’t know your spark amp, many folks have them, but I’ve no idea if they are capable of any good tone.

Get your clean tones like ya want them first. And do use the guitar vol./tone controls. I find them a powerful tool too.
Other than that. If your just playing some scales and the likes, even if you got poor tone, playing the scales will be worthwhile.
Also, imho, most effects are overrated. Play w/o till ya can find some tones that ya like clean.
Heck, ya may end up like me. I don’t use too many effects. Like 2. Reverb and tremolo. Both of which are onboard effects on one of my amps. The ones w/o tremolo I did get a tremolo pedal to cover them, but it’s my only tone modifying pedal. Short of a eq pedal, that I use infrequently. Them are my two pedals. I get my good tone (to me) from my amps… and my playing… and my guitars, which ain’t that great.
imho, play your electric guitar! If ya can’t get any tones that are good to you, go search out a different amp. To me, that’s where the good tone is at, mostly in the amp.
fwiw, google setting up some good tones on your amp. I think Justin has one as to how to adj. your amp for good tone. I think @AJSki2fly , Adrian, linked ya to some of them.
