Strat clean up & new pickguard

Well, I finally got my new pickguard yesterday. I just fitted it and changed the pickup covers/ volume tone knobs etc. It is starting to look good I can’t wait to play her again cheers Hec

Dang, I am suddenly feeling land locked.

Wait a min. Some seems familiar? Its your avitar. Just white pickups and knobs. Haha tricky tricky.

Nice looking build.

Hey Hec, the guitar looks great!

Your link above is not the right one and should be edited:
The right one, somehow, accidentally, you sent it to me.

Here is the one you planned to post:

All the best to you,

So it took awhile because I was busy but my Strat has had a well deserved service and god did it need it man, most springs had just gave up including the trem spring and it was a nightmare to get out, anyway here is Red all done and plays mint; the pick guard has really came out nice cheers HEC

Looks fantastic; I bet it plays great, too. Since I’m usually curious with regard to some technical details, would you mind telling us what pickups are installed on this beauty and what gauge of strings you use?

Many that looks nice. I am digging that trem set up. Missing the ocean right about now.

I love it!

Hi Hec,
Very nice

As far as I’m concerned, it would be better if you had just placed this topic with your previous one about this guitar Clean up strat , so the same things are together and it saves another topic. That’s more fun for the reader … I think, maybe ask @Richard_close2u Richard if he will put them together ?

Have fun with it :sunglasses:

Looks good, Hec, and look foward to hearing you play it sometime.

I’m not really a fan of this colour gamut, per se, but I need to make an exception with this head-turning makeover … :ok_hand:t2:

Have fun … :sunglasses:

Hi, Tomasz so the pickups are original American standards 6.1K and the strings are D’Addario 09/40 NYXL. years ago I would not work on my guitars and a luthier screwed down me trem after a service unknown to me so I never went back that’s why I started doing all my own work cheers Hec

Thank you, Hec, I love NYXL strings, too, but am not particularly loyal to one brand . My favourite gauge for all guitars is 10-46 except Danelectro which gets 11-49s. The original American standard pickups are known for producing that unmistakable strat sound… That’s a fine instrument you have, and a good thing is that you do the necessary amount of work yourself. :+1:

Yeah I just got back into playing after years so she has sat and deteriated man I was a bit shocked and then after sitting for a long time getting that tremolo to float correctly and set up just right, I totally forgot about it and tried to drop tune it to D not happening on the Strat with a floating Trem but she is playing very nice

Forgive my noobness. I really just started playing the electric myself. I did not realize that playing drop tuning with a floating trem is a issue. It makes sense I guess.

No Jason that’s ok a lot of people don’t realise, because basically its science rebalance the floating bridge with the two tensions. 1 being the tension of the strings = the tension of the Trem springs, so for example if one string snaps its history the guitar goes out of tune so there are three positions you can go for ie floating or flat so you can only flatten the strings or screw it down and that just defeats the purpose. for me a Strat has to have a floating well tuned Trem and a Strat player will always have his Tele or Gibson at the ready just in case :guitar: I hope that helps you cheers Hec

Check this guy out he is good
