Subscription Prices

I was looking at the plan options and for some reason the Spring Sale triples the price of the normal yearly subscription. Why is this?

Hi @Nemezio,

The reason the Spring Sale appears at a higher price for you is due to regional pricing in your country. We already offer significant discounts on the app in your area for yearly and monthly subscriptions, which means we’re unable to apply further discounts during sales events throughout the year. We hope you understand, and we appreciate your continued support

Unfortunately, due to the way the system is set up, we cannot remove the Spring Sale from all stores in all regions, please note that the regional pricing regular price is the best price in your area and we often track changes in the local economies of these regions to ensure it is a fair price point based on average earnings.

We hope you can understand and we also understand it can seem a little odd seeing it appear during sales times.

A little odd? How about a lot ridiculous. You know damn well you have customers all over the world. Fix your app and Stop making specials for s select few. Who designed this, Elon Musk?

Some perspective:

  • The screenshot shows a monthly plan of 23 and a yearly plan of 140. So basically, you get a full year at the cost of 6,01 months.
  • In my region, it’s 11 per month, 100 per year, so one year at the cost of 9,09 months. And yes, we do have a spring sale now, at 80 for a year, so a full year at the cost of 7,27 months.

My conclusion out of this is that the OP already gets a very good deal, without a spring sale.

I could complain it’s unfair that he can have a better yearly plan than me, but since he’s living in an area that’s far less prosperous than mine, I actually think it’s nice the rate for people in his area is kept low. But I also appreciate that there are sometimes ‘specials for a select few’, for those who live in a more prosperous area and generally pay more (even relatively speaking).

Yes, it would be nice if every shop could be customised etc, but in the end, we still get pretty much everything for free. Are we really going to complain about the design of a webshop page?

Hey :waving_hand:

We totally get your frustration, and we really appreciate you speaking up about it. This is one of those situations where tech and good intentions don’t quite line up the way they should.

The goal with regional pricing is to make the app more accessible globally by adjusting prices based on average incomes. But yeah, when a sale pops up like this, it can definitely feel off — especially when it’s marked as a “deal” but looks more expensive. That’s not lost on us.

We’re actively chatting with the Musopia team (they handle the app side of things) about how we can make this clearer and avoid confusion like this in the future.

Your feedback helps push those conversations forward, so thank you again for calling it out — even if it was a bit spicy

Keep playing and cheers,

Hi Laryne

I am not an app user, it came on stream way past the time it would been of use to me, so no skin in this game. But reading the replies, if you have specific regional pricing, would it not make sense to have the equivalent regional marketing and associated deals, so these “offers of a life time” only appear where they are genuine bargains.

Just a thought.

Hi Everyone,

We forwarded this to our tech team for review, and we’re pleased to announce that, after some coding adjustments, the Spring Sale prices for these regions have been updated to accurately reflect the correct sale price based on the original full price.

We will keep this model moving forward for other sales that we run, so sales prices are always fairly reflected for all users
