I was thinking of going off piste a little with Vintage Club #20.
In Club #19 we looked at some of the many ways that multiple guitars can play together. I mentioned that this can be used by people who are interested in adding layers and textures to songs, perhaps in creating recordings.
I have the notion of seeking to compose and create, in real-time during the live stream, a ‘song’ using these techniques. By taking suggestions from the live audience in chat, we will collaboratively decide upon chord progressions, tempo, and other elements that will go to composing a song - most likely in two or more parts (time dependent) of intro / verse / chorus / bridge/ outro etc.
This has all the potential to be a risky venture as I will be creating, playing, recording and over-dubbing multiple parts on a looper (a Digitech Trio+ to be more precise) in front of a live audience! Eek.
What say you?
Go for it Richard. It sounds like fun and what’s to lose!
No, sorry, I’m not interested.
Are you nuts? It’ll be a disaster! haha … Oh wait - I’ll tune in to that! Car crash live streaming.
Sounds like fun Richard although it will be stressful for you of course, especially if you have loads of contributors each with a different idea of which way to go!
“Going off piste?”
I had to look up that term-thanks for the new vocabulary Richard. If you want to take us off the beaten path that could be fun, just don’t crash the car!
Very daring, a tiny bit crazy, and super creative. If it will be a car crash, it will be an artful one at least.
I’ll be sure to mark this Vintage Club day in my calendar in bright red.
I only fear, I’ll end up suffering from Trio+ pedal fever even more than I am already now. But… The Trio+ wouldn’t work with a simple modeling amp (Line 6 W30) anyhow?
What I especially like is that this fosters a bit more attendee action and interaction. This wasn’t possible in the other sessions due to the large number of attendees. Looking forward to it
