Do they need to be songs that Justin has tutorials on? If not then I have some suggestions.

Revival- Zach Bryan
Something in the Orange- Zach Bryan (both use the same 3 open chords)
Free Falling- Tom Petty

These were very beginner friendly for me.

Ok, I’ll go with some… not most well known and always played songs…

Paul Simon - Was a sunny day
It wasn’t exactly a hit in the charts, but when I rediscovered it lately, it seemed very familiar to me that I had the feeling lots of people knew it. Maybe I’m wrong?

I hear you knockin in the style of Fats Domino, simply with 3 chords like in here:

Edwyn Collins - A girl like you
Justin’s got an easy lesson with a capo

Cheers, Dominique

Ok, reading your edit, I think I went wrong with going slightly original, off the road.
If you want the most popular stuff, at our campfires, it was…
Let it be
Hey Jude
Country Roads

My first ideas:

San Francisco Scott Mc Kenzie
Mull of Kintyre Wings (before Imagine or Let it be)
Wonderful Tonight Eric Clapton

after having a Quick Look on the list above: some not mentioned before and more beginner-isch - I think.

I hadn’t heard Four Strong Winds in a long long time. It’s a great sing along piece and easy to learn. Also one you can practice playing with all barre chords or all triads to work those guitar muscles.

I nearly suggested Good Riddance and Don’t look back in Anger. Good choices. As you have such good taste I’ll check out the Pearl Jam one you suggested.

As Coda says, people who live in a non english speaking country don’t sing english songs, therefore I would actually add an other constraint:

  • songs with international versions.

So I would also select those:

  • San Francisco Scott Mc Kenzie
  • House of the rising sun
  • Take Me Home Country Roads

I would like ā€œanother day in paradiseā€ by Phil Collins, but I don’t know if it meets the other criteria.
