Has Justin ever made a video specifically explaining syncopated rhythm? Or would it be within the Music Theory course anywhere? I am gradually working my way through that as well. Or otherwise, if there’s any really good videos that someone can point to I am learning a song that has a syncopated drumming pattern and it’s a little confusing to me.
Thanks in advance friends!

Hi James,
maybe you can check the two modules in Grade 6 about Blues Rhythms:

I’m not that far, yet, so don’t know exactly, if it it what you are looking for. Justin also has written a book on rhythm for guitarists that might be worth checking out. ![]()
Listen to Jimi Hendrix - ‘Purple Haze’ this is a good example of syncopated rhythm playing in the verse sections and in also on the soloing in parts. I spent some time getting to play it up to speed, it is quite fun to play, the 2 bar solo is quite a challenge but can be simplified.
