Synergy Amps, Had any experiance with them?

Hi all, Christmas just gone, I got myself a Guitar speaker, but at the last minute decied not to have a valve amp shipped from abroad. Too many horror stories on the net.

So, in the end I decided to hold off for a bit.
So, a couple of days go I came across and add for Synergy Amps.

Looking into it, the amp advertised is a 20w Valve amp with modules that plug into it. Never heard of this before.

What I find interesting is the module, makes like, Morgan, Vai ,Peavey,Freidman and Engl and a fair few others.

So…If you have any experiance with these I would be really interested to hear about it, some of the latest reviews sound promising , but nothing like owrd of mouth.

It’s a cool idea, but I have a hard time making the price make sense. To really get something out of such a system I would want at least 3-4 modules to swap between. And by the you’re at a price point where you can get a killer tube head or top end modeller.

Maybe , but with this system you’re open to have any of the 20+ module each under £400 not the £2000+ to buy an amp.

Certainly, and I would be interested in hearing how you like it (if you decide to go down this road).

First of all I started with solid state amps and am now regretting so you’re definitely on the right track! The Synergy I just looked at for the first time and while it’s a nice concept I wouldn’t invest in it. I would look at finding a good used tube amp and buying either a combo pedal board like the Boss ME90 or buying individual pedals to use with it OR I’d look at what Neural is doing. There full size unit is essentially the same price as a Kemper and it newer and in many ways (but not all) better. They also make a Nano unit that is quite affordable. You buy a good speaker and you have amp modeling and pedal modeling all in one. Solid state but puts anything else in that sphere to shame! These units are pretty much as good in cleanliness to tubes AND far, far more versatile! It’s like owning 12 (or more) different tube amps and dozens of pedals all in one little unit! Justin uses the Kemper and get great results. I would caution about buying Kemper right now though because there units haven’t been updated in over a decade and they are overdue!

Tubes are definitely awesome! Equally awesome is the units like the Kemper’s and Neural DPX Cortex’s! I’d look in that direction but wherever you go it seems you’re looking in the right direction!

If you watch a few vids about the Synergy, you may be surprised. !

I only started looking into Synergy a few days ago when I came across an advert for a new model just being released and also the info about a Tone King plugin also due to be released very soon it all peaked my inerest, and so I needed to ask people.

A valve pre-amp plugin from tone king for the Synergy Amp.

Not yet released. !

This however I came across today, and this I would be very interestd in, still just pre-amp.

Still need to read about all this and see what people have to say…

Maybe you’ve already seen it but Andertons did a more in depth video on these amps in the past few days

I think unfortunately you need to be able to see into the future. As one of the previous comments mentioned, and the video says it also, if you only ever buy one module then you could likely achieve the same thing for less money. If you ultimately buy 2, 3, 7 modules then it looks like an increasingly good buy. The technology itself does seem cool
