It seems to me that there are 2 versions of the app (or certain functions disabled on certain hardware). I have the Justinguitar app of my Samsung S23 phone and it has more features that the Justinguitar app on my Honor Android tablet.
On my phone I can select between the chord diagrams or have the stumming pattern permanently displayed below the song. On my tablet, this feature is not available.
On my phone I can run in portrait mode which allows a longer view of ahead so I can see the next chord coming up earlier. On my tablet there have been some songs where it has only 2 beats on the line and the next chord is not shown until it is time to play it. On the phone, I can see that chord and prepare for it.
I can’t really understand why those features would be disabled on the tablet version when you have a nice big screen and plenty of space to display information, but are available on a small screen. I tried it on my wife’s android tablet and the same restrictions exist on that as well.
There are a a few other options I have noticed on my phone that do not seem to be available on the tablet version.
Are there android tablets out there where you can run the app in portrait mode and get the same features as I get on my phone?
@MusopiaApps Please can you clarify for @Steevo25

I could not possibly help with this matter but it is nice to meet you Stephen, and like I always say somebody will be along soon to help you but welcome to the community cheers Hec

Hi Everyone,
Currently, the mobile and tablet layout/design is different as we released the new designs on mobile only to begin with to test their functionality and to ensure that we got feedback to improve the design before going live with a tablet version with the same features.
Both the tablet and mobile designs will be exactly the same following the release of version 3.20.0 which is expected to go live very soon.
We apologise for any inconvenience in the meantime and please keep your eyes peeled for updates

Thank you very much for responding. That makes perfect sense. The new features on the phone are good and seem to work well.

Hi @MusopiaApps. I am using 3.20.2 on a Lenovo Android tablet and Portrait mode is still not working. Any tips? Thanks
I have also upgraded and, to be honest, I can’t see any difference. I still can’t get portrait mode and none of the additional options I get on my phone are available on my tablet.
I emailed Musopia directly today to get clarity re their post and to get clarity re Portrait mode.
Their reply:
"This thread was about the karaoke mode not being available on tablets yet and it was introduced in 3.20.0. There are no plans to introduce a portrait mode for tablets at this moment in time. "
