Hello everyone. I got here to see how others are having the target 3rds thing. Nothing but howling wind here.
Anyway I got particularly interested how do you perform and improvise over those fun arrangements. After number of takes I managed to record my take. It’s kind of a loose arrangement where I go for additional notes around set ideas. Would love to see some more of yours fun solo blues ![]()
Filip
Well played and your ‘additional notes’ are adding nice variations to the melody and rhythm of the piece. Another variation that may help further is the use of some more bass notes.
Brian
Hi Brian. Believe me or not I was so hard primed after the steady thumb blues that I had to learn to not use the thumb
but yeah more base is the way ![]()
Well done, Filip. That was great. You’ve got the right idea. You played licks that highlight the sound of each chord. I could hear all the chord changes, even with out the bass notes. Nice turnarounds too. ![]()
Good lesson. Very useful in so many ways. I’ve gone through all the previous lessons again and starting mixing things up a bit in each one. Improvising using 3rds in between the standard blues chord structure. I’ve learned more technique and improved skill more than by just learning by playing songs. Very addictive. I want to go back playing the songs I had memorised off by heart by this is so addictive because of the skill and knowledge acquisition. I’ll do another lesson and then get back to playing some stuff by The Doors and Hendrix and see how things have improved. Really well structured set of lessons.
